I have a dry patch of skin on my chest. is this a concern? i've had it for a while, but never thought anything much of it.

Dry skin: Dry skin patches are very common, and may be caused by atopic dermatitis (eczema), fungal infections or other inflammatory skin diseases. Usually they are nothing to worry about. Try putting some moisturizer or Vaseline on it and show your doctor at your next visit. If it is growing larger or has different colors, get it looked at sooner.

No immediate concern: The matter is not likely to be of any immediate importance, however, as and when you see your doctor for any other purpose, it would be prudent to have her/him take a look at the lesion.
