Yes: An IUD such as Mirena (levonorgestrel) stops offering protection from pregnancy immediately after it is removed. Bleeding/spotting after removal is common but does not suggest that you cannot get pregnant. If pregnancy is not desired, an alternate form of contraception should be started.
