Nail fungus: Dark discoloration of nails can be due to fungal infection which is quite common. While the diagnosis can be easily made by simple examination in most cases, treatment is a bit more frustrating and require longer treatment of prescription oral anti fungal agents for 6-12 months. But there are some home remedies like vinegar etc some people swear by. They are worth trying for treating nail fungus.
