Mucus plug?: Sounds like some cervical mucus passing - which is nothing to worry about, and doesn't help to predict when you will go into labor. Any green, or brown or 'split pea' appearing discharge - should go to l&d for evaluation to make sure your 'water' didn't break and that it isn't meconium-stained amniotic fluid.

Mucous plug?: It sounds like you have lost your mucous plug, which is quite normal at almost 40 weeks of pregnancy. Call your doctor if you have regular contractions, vaginal bleeding, leaking fluid or decreased fetal movement.
