Technique: Please follow the instructions for the test carefully. Use first morning urine. Only do the test if you have missed your period by 4-5 days, after having unprotected sex. If you do not wish to be pregnant, use contraception all the time, every time. You may consider implanted contraceptive, or IUD. Practice safe sex. Get HPV vaccine.

Not easy to tell why: There are several factors which can interfere with the accuracy of a "urine" pregnancy test and give false positive or false negative results. If you need to be sure, the more reliable test is a Blood BetaHCG measurement.
