A member asked:

Approximately how long do drugs stay in a mother's systeiwhile pregnant? given the fact she's an infrequent user ?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Drugs in the mother: This depends upon the specific drug and whether it's fat or water soluble. In other words to affect the fetus the drug has to cross the placental barrier. Fat soluble drugs are more likely to cross, and possibly affect the fetus.
