Many causes: There are many causes of facial nerve palsy such as idiopathic bells palsy (may be viral) and is the most common; other infections such as lyme disease); vascular disease (stroke) or rarely tumors around the brain.

Depends on cause: You should see a Facial Plastic Surgeon (ENT) or Plastic Surgeon who specializes in facial paralysis. The treatment depends on the cause of the paralysis, the severity, and the length of time it has been present. This problem can always be improved!
