Abnormal bleeding: It sounds like you have a case of polymenorrhea, which means that you have your periods too frequently. Without an examination and labs, we won't be able to diagnose you, but it might be a good idea to check your thyroid levels and consider trying a course of hormonal birth control to see if your periods can be regulated better.

Frequent periods: Definitely not normal. I suggest that you see your gyn, and probably a vaginal sonogram would be helpful.
