Does a decrease in melanin lighten your eye colour ?

No effect: Melanin is largely constant after infancy throughout the body including the eye color. There is differential clumping which is responsible for tanning but this is not due to a change in the amount. If you melanin were truly lightening, the eye color would remain the same.
