ANA: positive ANA test indicates that there would a connective tissue disease, which needs confirmation by other tests and/or clinically, lupus is one sort of connective tissue disease, ANA is a good screening test 95 - 100% of the time, i.e. Has good sensitivity, meaning it is a good way to rule out connective tissue disease, but not to confirm it, hope that answers your question
