The dermatologist: that prescribed the rogaine (minoxidil) should be consulted regarding whether you should continue use of the rogaine (minoxidil) or whether diluting it is recommended, and/or how this should be done. It is available over-the-counter in 2% concentration. Consider trying 2% OTC concentration to see if it causes irritation. If irritation occurs with 2% then diluting it will probably not be helpful anyway.
