This is: a very interesting question ad before you are told it's in your imagination let me offer a thought: This could be a protruded disc at the L4-5 level in your BACK and when you strain you INCREASE intra-abdominal pressure thus putting more pressure on that nerve! Ask your Primary Care Provider if this is possible!!!!!!! HOPING this helps! Dr Z
