What clinical signs and symptoms would indicate pneumothorax and hemorrhage for a patient with chest tube?

See below: Pain and shortness of breath. If hemothorax, you would see blood coming out of the tube. Chest tube is the treatment for pneumothorax although occasionally you will need more than one chest tube. Hope that helps a little bit.

Unsure question: If you already have a chest tube, hemorrhage would generally be indicated by the amount of blood draining to collection system (i.e. Pleuravac). Active air-leak would also be indicated by collection system. Additionally, airleak and/or inadequate drainage may cause subq air. Persistent pneumothorax with chest tube in place would generally be confirmed with a chest x-ray.
