Cause of swelling?: smoking should not cause lip swelling in general, unless you are cutting your lip with the filter tip, and I dont know what doing it "outside" would have to do with it either. People do sometimes develop problems with both the heat and "tars" in tobacco smoke and develop allergies. STOP SMOKING and use a cool compress on the lip. Talk to your physician about use of any anti-allergy medications.
