It depends: There are 3 different types of skin cancer. The most common one is called Basal cell carcinoma, it is a low grade cancer and rarely causes any problems unless neglected. Squamous cell cancer is the second most common cancer and can be easily treated with minor surgery. it is also slow growing and rarely fatal. The most dangerous type of skin cancer is melanoma, which can cause death( in 20%).
