Must figure out why!: Depending on how long this has been going on, the color of the blood, & other symptoms, the bleeding may be a sign of an inflammatory bowel disease, a cancer, simple hemorrhoids, or various other problems. Key symptoms may include weight loss, diarrhea & bloody stools. Evaluation should not be delayed, even though you may feel embarrassed. Please see a doctor now, before it becomes an emergency.

See md: Impossible to know what the cause is without more info and examination but if you are having significant bleeding this requires medical evaluation. Causes can include but not limited to hemorrhoids, colitis, cancer, diverticulosis, or aberrant blood vessels. Treatment is different for each so you need an evaluation. If you are dizzy or short of breath or have other medical issues seek urgent care.
