3 pads x 30 minutes: If you are saturating 3 pads or tampons every 30 minutes, you need to go to the ER for immediate care if your MD cannot see you.

Better safe: If bleeding greater than 1 maxi pad an hour for 2 consecutive hours, then go to the ER. If any bleeding is associated with shortness of breath, lightheadedness, nausea, fainting....then go to the ER
