Recurrent BV...: ...is common, difficult, often very frustrating for both patient & doc. BV is not necessarily an STD, but sex often can trigger it and consistent condoms sometimes help. But treating partners doesn't help. Preventive treatment with vaginal metronidazole (MetroGel®) or boric acid vaginal capsules sometimes helps. If your doc is unfamiliar with these, find a gyn with interest in infectious diseases.
