Occasionally i get a sharp electric like zap on my neck that radiates to my head. i lasts a few seconds. what can this be or be related to?

Lancinating.: A pain like this in that area could either be muscular or related to nerve compression from the spine. A neck muscle spasm could cause this type of pain that would shoot up to the back of the head. Nerve compression from the cervical spine can contribute as well at times. Have you ever had any neck trauma?
