Yes, but: I believe you can count on the accuracy of the tests; however, to minimize further stress and worry, consider monogamous sex, protected sex with a condom, or abstinence. These options will decrease your risk and, in the case of abstinence, erase it completely. Do what is appropriate but safe for you.

You are negative: YES: this is a tap on the shoulder, a good healthy warning: ALWAYS USE CONDOMS!!!! You are not positive for HIV. You may want to consider generalized STD testing for all other STDs and have your sexual partner(s) checked

Rest easy: There are 2 types of HIV tests, viral antibody tests are the most common and inexpensive. 95% of people who have contracted AIDS show positive within 90 days, but it can take 6 months. Then there are tests looking for the virus itself (viral load) these will be positive within 2 weeks or sooner. These are the early tests such as RNA QL TMA. Based on that, Be safe and relax.
