Metabolism v Medicar: Medicare is Federal program to provide care for elderly & disabled. You probably wouldn't qualify under former, perhaps latter. Perhaps you're asking about Medicaid which is state program for low income. Regardless, metabolism usually refers to thyroid function which is easily checked via blood test (TSH or thyroid stimulating hormone). See your Family Doc for evaluation, diagnosis & treatment.
