Piece of Puzzle...: A pulmonary function test alone cannot tell a doctor if you have asthma. This test can be very useful but is used in conjunction with other important information including a detailed past medical history and physical exam. Both subjective and objective measures are used to determine if you have asthma or any other respiratory disease.
