Yes. Hereditary: Aquagenic urticaria (water allergy) is a rare condition, which causes skin breaks out in painful or itchy lesions when it comes in contact with water. It has an hereditary pattern, with location on chromosome 2q21. It is more common in females than males, and more likely to occur during puberty. There is no cure, but there are a number of treatments including antihistamines and topical steroids.
