STD or vaginitis: Clear watery vaginal discharge may be due to a vaginal infection or a sexually transmitted disease. You should be tested for vaginitis caused by bacteria, yeast, or trichomonas, and also for sexually transmitted diseases including gonorrhea, chlamydia, and herpes.
