Lymph node enlarged: You have an enlarged mastoid lymph node. This is quite common, and typically begins in the setting of a viral illness like a cold or the flu. It's not always clear why they persist.. It's important to keep an eye on it and make sure that it isn't enlarging. Ideally, you can enlist the help of your doctor with this task. Point it out to him or her at the next visit and then follow it over time

It depends on the si: It depends on the size of this lump. It is most likely an enlarged lymph node which her doctor can tell if it is located deeply and not attached to the skin. Infection of the throat is the likely cause. But if the lump is >1cm in size, I would be concerned about other causes like lymph gland cancer. This would mean continued growth in size . If it is, get a medical examination by your MD.
