Your dentist: Your dentist can check the height of the fillings using special paper that makes marks on them at the high spots. Feeling like you're hitting a tooth prematurely, pain when biting down, and an overall feeling the your bite is not quite "right" are signs that something might be amiss. Let your dentist take a look.

Can't Know For Sure: Even if you're having pain upon biting/chewing, or "feel" like your fillings are too high, you can't be sure unless you have it checked by a dentist. It might be that a tooth itself is too high. If that's the case, it definitely needs to be addressed by a dentist. If something "feels" off when you bite/chew, there's definitely something wrong....you just can't be sure it's a filling by yourself.
