A member asked:

I was tested positive for chlamydia and had some symptoms. i was treated, told my boyfriend to get tested however he tested negative. confused, help!!

A doctor has provided 1 answer

He must be treated: Men do have a higher false negative rate then women. However, much more common, men will tell their partner they didn't have it because they want to deflect any suspicion they are having sex outside of the relationship. Irrespective of his test result watch him take the medication and if he wasn't treated and you've had unprotected sex since treatment, you will likely be positive again.
