Actalin: Some doctors think this is wonderful, others think it is not necessary. Two things to do: 1: Check with your doctor that your thyroid replacement is working well. If not changes in dose will be made. 2: If the thyroid is OK but you are unwell the doctor will work with you to find out what is wrong. I cannot see a good reason to take Actalin.

No added value: There is no credible evidence that Actalin is of value, particularly in patients already taking synthetic thyroid. In some cases, the iodine in Actalin could be harmful. Check with your physician about optimizing your thyroid hormone indices. Also, Cymbalta (duloxetine) may be contributing to your cognitive symptoms. I suggest you consult with your physician about alternatives.
