Talk with doctor: Certainly, if you are having acute pain issues and things are not well controlled then, switching to another strategy may be indicated if you're max'ed out on this regimen but that should be a decision your doctor offers. Being admitted for chronic pain control using IV meds to a hospital needs to have a "game plan" associated otherwise, you'll never be discharged, right? Talk with your doctor.
