Ketones =starvation : The presence of ketones in the urine is indicative of starvation and the body has to switch to another form of metabolism. It is not how much is present but are they present or not. The most important thing is that the person maintain a normal weight. If you are concerned enough to get urine test, you should probably take the person to be evaluated. Also they may be at risk for electrolyte abnorma
