At least 24 hrs.: You might have been given Rx and if they warn against alcohol - that needs to be heeded. Also, you need to wait till a clot forms to eat or drink anything. Avoid a straw to prevent dry socket. Ask your dentist about all this - it's not the alcohol per se, but always be moderate. Call their office to inquire.

Many: Acts as blood thinner>clot wash-out>dry socket. Impaired judgement. Can interact w analgesics resulting in altered motor response. May interact w antibiotics making them less effective. You should be able to go a week or so without a drink. If not, consider professional intervention.

Wait 72 hours: As long as you are not taking any medications like opioids or antibiotics. After 72 hours you should be able to consume alcohol responsibly.
