Yes: The tongue is filled with tiny pockets of immunity producing tissue. Bumps indicate the little factories are at work producing virus killing antibodies. The body will try to increase blood flow to the area to help deliver more of them to infected area. Gargle and spit out warm salt water to ease the swelling. Viral infections should pass within a week. Antibiotics won't help.
