Daily: Fluoxetine is not effective if taken intermittently. It may take several weeks of daily dosing to reach a therapeutic blood level. Be sure to clarify directions with prescribing doctor. I hope this helps.

Take it for 2 weeks: Several studies have shown that taking fluoxetine for 14 days, starting on cycle day 14, is effective for PMDD. This is called luteal phase-only treatment. see>http://1.usa.gov/1fKRIro
