Smoking is bad for u: Your risk is lower than someone who smokes for several years, but it is not zero. You've made the best decision you can possibly make for your health by quitting smoking. Greater picture.: It's doubtful that you'd get throat cancer from smoking cigarettes for a short time. However, my greater concern would be that you continue smoking in the long term, either due to personal choice, peer pressure or even addiction. In that sense, long term smoking could lead to throat and lung cancer. Good that you quit, but please don't start again. Just walk away.
