In many situations: Many times, medications are prescribed together that have potentially troublesome or dangerous interactions when benefit outweighs risk and no safer alternative exists. There is a potential interaction between cipro and ibuprofen which can lead to agitation or seizure, so the tylenol (acetaminophen) is a preferred pain reliever here. At normal doses in a healthy person, this interaction would be very rare
