A member asked:

What are causes of small fiber nueropathy? can it progress fast? can chiari malformation cause it?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Comments: Causes of small fiber neuropathy include diabetes, HIV, lupus, sarcoidosis, B-12 deficiency, Sjogren's, a variety of autoimmune conditions, and perhaps a few hereditary conditions, unreported in literature so far. There may well be a link with connective tissue disorders, such as Ehlers-Dalos, and some are associated with Chiari. All can be treated, but you need experienced doc.
