How is your hearing?: If you can hear as you did before, none of the issues you mentioned seem relevant. There are bones outside the ear, jaw bone and mastoid so it is normal for that to feel hard. If you have any discharge from the ear or having impairment in hearing it would be prudent to see an ENT doctor.
