Unlikely cancer: Give it a couple of weeks and see what happens. Ask your doctor to check it if you are concerned. This may represent residual inflammatory cells left behind from a recent infection and occasionally even tonsillar stones. I presume that you do not have any other symptoms at this time. But if there is soreness or other symptoms , check with your doctor to rule out a strep infection or mono.
