Past 6 mths, hsv-1. Been on Valtrex (valacyclovir) 500mg 2x/day, now aciclovir 400mg 3x/day. Meds not helping suppress daily sores. Is breastfeeding activating it?
This is just a follow up question would a few weeks of low dose valtrex on and off effect a hsv swab of a lesion? Is it likely the negative swab was negative because of the antiviral? Should I reswab if it comes back? Or is it likely negative?
