Yes: While it is slightly less effective in women who weight more than 170 the effectiveness of all hormonal contraceptives declines some with increasing BMI but this isn't significant until the weight is over 200 pounds. For your general health exercise and a healthy diet would be advisable as they are for everyone but your weight will not significantly effect your contraception. Hope this helps.
