It very much can: As many runners carry increased tone in the shoulders as part of their normal gait and depending on the underlying pathology contributing to your shoulder pain, like rotator cuff tendinopathy, this can manifest as shoulder pain. Instead of immobilizing your shoulder, first make sure you know why you have shoulder pain and that likely will require a doctors visit.
