Germ behavior: First, HPV doesn't really go away, symptoms like warts can clear, but the germ usually goes into hibernation and can return later. It has a tissue preference to live on or near surfaces, not enter the blood. HSV can erupt on skin surfaces and enter the blood, it can also clear, hibernate and return.
