DUB: First you should exclude pregnancy by doing a home pregnancy test. It sounds like dysfunctional uterine bleeding (DUB) which often results from hormonal imbalances during menstrual cycle. DUB is treated by trying to regulate the hormones. You don't mention contraception, but DUB is often treated by birth control pills for ongoing regulation of hormones.
