What's the difference between buphthalmos & exophthalmos? i am a medical student by the way.

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Not quite the same: Buphthalmos appear more often in the first 3 months of life and usually means congenital glaucoma, which is increased internal eyeball pressure. Exophthalmos is when an eyeball bulges outward from its socket, which can be due to something pushing it out, or due to having an undersized socket. Maybe if buphthalmos causes an eyeball to be too big for its socket, exophthalmos can result.
