Not true: Trading in the cat for a husband will greatly increase a woman's chances of pregnancy. But, if she already has both a man and a cat, having the cat provides no contraception. In the U.S., cat worries are regarding Toxoplasma (a tiny parasite that cats can have). If a woman gets pregnant first, and then catches Toxoplasma, her baby fetus can be damaged. That's our usual concern about cats.
