Not funny: Most important to leave mouth open and sneeze into your bent elbow/shoulder area. This prevents tremendous forces in your sinuses. You may have strained your posterior pharyngeal (throat) muscles and soft palate muscles . You can also cause tremendous pressure on your eyes with this kind of sneeze. Give it some rest and see your MD if it does not improve in a few days. Good Luck.

Keep your mouth open: Explosive sneeze with closed mouth may cause a massive build-up of pressure in the head, which can cause injuries such as a burst eardrum and /or tearing blood vessels. If you must sneeze, keep your mouth open.
