Floaters & pain: Your floaters & the pain produced by pushing on your eyes are not related. Remember that if your floaters are suddenly increased with/without flashes of light or with any change in central or peripheral vision, you need to see an Eye MD for evaluation for possible retinal tear. As for pushing on your eyes, they are sensitive to this, and thus should not be routinely done. If your eyes hurt: exam.
