Not really: My not need to go to the hospital but i would certainly see a doctor. Sound s like you have developed an infection that needs care.

Contusion: If it all healed and nice signs of infection you may have a contusion of the bone. Try heat, compression and perhaps massage. It may take many months to resolve.
