It varies: Unless he had some defect in producing sperms before this surgery, it may or may not be possible to tell the impact of this surgery. Varicocele has varying effects on sperms which have not been quantitated as far as I know. But the operation is done to improve the chance of successful pregnancy. But the answer would lie in the sperm counts done before the surgery and 1-2 months after surgery.
