Maybe??: Verbatim vaccine has would hopefully induce productive antibody formation against HPV strains 16 and 18. You state that you already have been infected with type 16 so it won't help you with that one. Last month the FDA just approved a new HPV vaccine which protects against 9 strains of the virus. Ask you doc when he will be getting that one. That is what you should get.

Other strain matters: If you have evidence of prior infection by HPV16, but not the other strain in the vaccine, it could provide some benefit in avoiding the other strain. It would not treat or change your need for regular checkups due to the prior HPV16 infection.
